Quinceanera is a tradition that dates back to ancient times. Aztecs expected boys to become worriers and girls were presented to the community as women and marriage eligible. These traditions have evolved over the centuries but they retained the richness and significance of these traditions. Since the Spanish took over from the Aztecs the tradition became known as a Quinceanera; quince (fifteen) and “anera” same as “anos” (year). Over time it has become the launch point for Mexican girls, who look forward to this day like no other.

The celebration happens in two parts, first there is the Misa de acción de gracias (thanksgiving Mass). Here they are dressed in fancy dress, tiara carried on a pillow, flower bouquet and Scepter. It is traditional to bring several close relatives and friends to be ladies in waiting and honor her with their presence and service.

During the Mass, gifts and jewelry are presented by Parents and God Parents that are then blessed by the priest. At the end of the Mass, the girl prays using a kneeling pillow and then deposits her bouquet on the altar. She puts on her tiara, jewelry, and carries here scepter and is presented to the congregation as a woman.

The second portion of the celebration comes next. In the past, quinceanera would have opted for a viaje (journey) to go and see the world, now they opt for a blowout bash. To open the bash, the father places the shoes that were blessed on her feet and has the first dance. A sash is worn at the celebration letting everyone know the birthday girl. Other indispensable highlights include a customary toast using quienceanera toasting flutes and the cutting of a multi-tiered birthday cake with cake topper.

A wedding centerpiece can help to set the atmosphere for any wedding reception diner or celebration. They can range from the elaborate and overly ornate, to the simple chic designs inspired by minimalism. Whatever route you are going, it can be expensive, the trick is to get the look you want at the lowest price. Here are some ideas as to how to get your wedding center piece to be exactly what you want at the right price.

Starting with the base, like a foundation to a house, the base of your arrangement needs to be the foundation or the piece. It anchors the center piece to the rest of the area used for the celebration. A variety of materials can be used to make the base depending on the design you are going for, I would recommend using a mirror base; they are versatile, can compliment any décor. They also help to draw attention to all parts of the center piece and can help to spread the effect of the colors, lights and other features.

Then we must consider the container used, unless you are going for an earth theme and using pottery, or wood pieces, glass center piece containers are a must. They come in a variety, large martini glasses, shades, cylinders, large brandy glasses, bowls, round columns in several heights, square columns in several heights.

Accessories can take your center piece to the next level. No matter your theme, there are accessories that can be used to bring your creativity to the guests. Loose rose petals, table cards and place holders, submersible tea lights, and filler rocks can all help to set your center piece apart.

Adding fruits to your arrangement can add a touch of the season and the hope for the future to your wedding center pieces. Try different designed and carving in the fruit, the scents will be welcomed by your guests. You can jazz it up with fruit shaped candles as well.

Using several small photos of the couple to decorate your center piece is a great way to personalize the center piece and invite your guests over to view it more intimately. Using place card holder and mini frames to hold pictures would at elegance and intimacy to the center piece.
